Heloise Brown Athlete Ambassador
Heloise got into triathlon after a shoulder injury put an end to her volleyball aspirations. She talks to Sundried about training and racing.
Have you always been into sport?
I have been involved with sport from a young age, I've always adored team sports especially volleyball which I went on to play at university.
How did you first get into triathlon?
I first got into triathlon in 2019 after a shoulder injury which meant I couldn't play volleyball anymore so I signed up to the London Olympic Triathlon and have fallen in love with the sport ever since!
What's been your favourite race to date and why?
My favourite race to date has been the Dorney Triathlon because I got a massive PB and actually enjoyed the run which is rare for me.
What's your proudest achievement?
Probably my first triathlon, because I went into it with very little experience so crossing that finish line felt like an incredible achievement.
Have you had any racing disasters?
No race disasters as of yet but I'm sure I have plenty to come!
How do you overcome setbacks?
I remember that I'm not starting from scratch, I'm starting with experience.
What advice do you wish you'd been given before you started out?
I wish I'd been told how important brick runs are and how important it is to get used to jelly legs off the bike.
What are your goals?
I'd love to be part of the GB Age Group team.
Who inspires you?
Chrissie Wellington, her book was hugely inspiring.
Why work with Sundried?
Because they have the right intentions surrounding sport and fitness and allow you to deliver in style!
