How did you first get into mountain biking?

My first mountain bike event was entered purely out of curiosity, unknowing if I'd ever be able to complete it. Following that I entered my first 24hr solo MTB race!

Start your journey into the world of cycling today. Sundried's Cycle Kit is suitable for anyone from beginners to seasoned athletes. Both men's and women's styles available.

What has been your favourite race to date and why?

The 24hr of Finale Ligure in Italy by far. It was hosting the 2017 WEMBO World 24hr Championships and the atmosphere was like nothing I've experienced before, or since. The level of support on course was electric!

What is your proudest achievement?

Probably the Lap Of My Mind charity ride I participated in in 2018. I was the penultimate stage and covered 425 miles in 48hrs from Portsmouth to Truro. This was in December and the weather was horrendous, but we raised lots of money for mental health charities. It feels good to give something back.

Have you ever had any racing disasters?

In 2018 I battled hypothermia at the World 24hr championships and ended up getting off my bike during the night. It took a while to sort myself out, but found the legs to go back out and ended up securing 5th place!

How do you overcome setbacks?

Positive mental attitude putting kind over matter is my ethos. Anyone/anything is beatable if you put your mind to it.

What advice do you wish you'd been given when you first started out?

Whatever level you start off a sport at is ok. It doesn't matter that you get lapped, or everyone looks faster than you on Instagram. As long as you are enjoying it you will progress. Progression starts off as a battle within yourself.

What are your goals?

Top 3 in the world MTB 24hr championships in 2022 is my main goal currently, although I've got my eye on the Tour Divide at some point.

Who inspires you?

It's hard for me not to be inspired by the likes of Jason English and Taylor Lideen, incredible endurance athletes who broke the mould with some serious wins to their names. They made modern 24hr racing what it is today.

Why work with Sundried?

Comfort and quality are two really important factors when I choose my kit. To work with a company that is run by athletes for athletes and could supply comfortable affordable clothing with an eco vibe to them is a dream!
