Jon Priston Athlete Ambassador
Jon started his running career to get fit and lose weight but now he's hooked. He talks to Sundried about life as a runner.
Have you always been into sport?
Ever since primary school. I played county golf and also England schools and universities.
What made you decide to enter the world of running?
I have been running for about 4 years. Mainly to get fit and lose weight but now I love it.
What’s been your favourite race to date and why?
The Coventry half marathon. Great crowds and a PB for me too.
And your proudest achievement?
Completing my first half in 1hr 49.
Have you ever had any racing disasters / your toughest race yet?
No disasters. Toughest was when I ran the Gloucester 20 mile race in 2016 which was hilly and a very tough race in the heat.
How do you overcome setbacks?
I found being out for 9 months with shin splints very tough but cycling and gym work helped ease the pain of not running.
What is the best bit of advice you wish someone had told you before you started competing?
Don't try and PB every run you do.....always run to feel.
What are your goals for 2018?
I'm running the Chester Metric Marathon in October and would love to finish it in under 2 hours 20
Who do you take your inspiration from?
The Brownlee brothers...amazing pair
What do you like about Sundried and what’s your favourite bit of our kit?
The eco aspect of the brand is amazing and the running tops are brilliant to run in. A great fit and very light to wear even when they get wet or sweaty!
