Mens gym clothing uk
If you want to upgrade your gym clothing wardrobe then there are a few key pieces of gym clothes for men that you should be investing in. Here in the UK, we have cold winters and recently have been having incredibly hot summers, so you need to make sure you've got the right ratio of gym tops, vests, shorts, trousers, and leggings to keep you warm in winter and cool in summer.
Summer gym clothing for men
In the summer, you will be sweating buckets before you even make it into the gym so you need to make sure you're comfortable. Sweat-wicking gym t-shirts and sleeveless vests will prevent chafing and will make you feel light and free instead of weighed down and uncomfortable. Less is more in summer and you'll want light and breathable fabrics, ideally crafted in a seamless design which will move as freely as you do.
When it comes to gym bottoms, you'll want to stick with loose shorts that will give your legs as much air as possible. If you do a lot of running, cycling, or yoga then it'll be vital that you're comfortable and not feeling restricted in sweaty leggings or gym trousers. Save those for the cold winter days!
Winter gym clothing for men in the UK
Compared to countries like Canada and Russia, a UK winter is relatively mild. However, when you're a UK native, anything below 0 degrees Celsius is enough to warrant getting the gym leggings out and layering up for your workouts. A lot of gyms these days are in old warehouses rather than cosy leisure centres, and so you'll still need to wrap up warm even though you're training indoors.
A good base layer such as a long sleeved compression top worn under a gym t-shirt will be the perfect way to combine performance with comfort and make sure you're not getting cold between sets. If the majority of your training consists of lifting weights, you can even get away with wearing a thick winter pullover hoodie which will be sure to keep you warm and comfortable. If you tend to do more cardio at the gym, this might not be such a sensible option.
