Preparing for your first yoga class can be stressful if you don't know what to expect. That's why Sundried are here to tell you everything you need to know.

Non-slip yoga mat

The first thing you'll want to get your hands on is a good quality non-slip yoga mat. It's best to have your own because there may not be enough for everyone at the class and you'll know that yours is clean and no one has used it before you. It's definitely worth investing in a good yoga mat, so we recommend the Sundried yoga mat. Made from premium Jute material, this yoga mat is all natural and won't fray no matter how much you use it. It is also non-slip meaning you can twist and pose without worrying about falling over in front of everyone!

What To Wear To Yoga

Knowing what to wear is another important aspect as you need to make sure you'll be comfortable. Read our guide here on what to wear to yoga so that you can be sure you're fully prepared. You'll need womens gym leggings, a loose yoga top, a comfortable sports bra or crop top, and maybe some women's shorts. Looking good will be a bonus, but being comfortable is definitely the most important thing. Yoga is unlike other sports as it is low impact and so you won't need speciality sportswear like high impact sports bras and compression wear. If you are interested in compression wear, you can read our article on its benefits here.

What To Expect

Finally, knowing what to expect from the class is important. There are lots of different types of yoga out there so you'll want to discover which one suits you best. Read Sundried's yoga guide to find out more about the different types of yoga and to check out some beginner moves before you hit your first class. Yoga is accessible for everyone so you don't need to have any previous experience or knowledge, but we do recommend having a quick read so that you know what to expect.
