Couch To Triathlon (10) - Triathlon Decided!
I really can't believe how much progress I've made in my triathlon training already. I started my Couch To Triathlon journey exactly 4 months ago and I have come on leaps and bounds since then. I started as a complete novice, knowing hardly anything about the sport. At that time, I had let my fitness drop quite a bit and I was struggling to even run 1 mile without stopping. I had never ridden a road bike in my life and had never cycled further than a few miles, and even then it was purely for fun and I cycled at no more than a slow jogging pace.
I have been following the sport of triathlon closely over the past few months, especially as it has been racing season, and the London Triathlon particularly took my eye. I had previously told myself that for my first triathlon I would do a sprint distance and would choose an event with an indoor pool swim, but now I have decided that if I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it properly. So I am going to do the Standard (Olympic) Distance Triathlon (1500m swim - 40k bike - 10k run) at the AJ Bell London Triathlon in August 2018!
